The Lessons and Carols of Easter
Cantata Presented by the Chancel Choir
Combining traditional hymns and incorporating readings from scripture, “The Risen Christ” moves us from Jesus’ triumphal ride into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, through the Last Supper, and the crucifixion. Then the composer lifts us all with traditional joyous hymns of Easter morning, incorporating congregational singing throughout each of the final arrangements.
Come to experience this beautiful cantata! Such involvement from the congregation and rousing support from the choir and organ will leave everyone feeling an emotional investment rarely experienced during this Easter season.
• Palm Sunday afternoon, April 9, 2006 at 4:30 PM.
• The passion section will be repeated on Maundy Thursday, April 13th during the 7:00 PM service.
• The resurrection portion will be repeated April 16th during the 9:00 AM Easter Sunday Celebration.
